Brian Comer has been the MLA for Cape Breton East since 2019. Prior to entering politics, Brian was a registered nurse, working across the healthcare system. Brian grew up in Donkin and spent most of his earlier years lobster fishing with his late father, brother, and uncles.

Brian is married to the love of his life Jennifer and is blessed to have a beautiful daughter, Maria and son, Johnny. His biggest accomplishment is being a dad. Brian serves as the Minister for Addictions and Mental Health, Communications Nova Scotia and Youth.

Brian has a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Regina, a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Arts from Cape Breton University.
