Desperate Churchill needs to stop attacking Elections Nova Scotia

EASTERN PASSAGE, N.S. – It’s time for Liberal Leader Zach Churchill to stop his political attacks against Elections Nova Scotia.

Eastern Passage PC candidate Barbara Adams says Elections Nova Scotia is an independent, non-partisan agency and Churchill’s frequent attacks against the agency undermine democracy in the province.

“Everybody knows Zach Churchill is in bad shape. He’s lost many MLAs. He has a track record of putting his support of Justin Trudeau ahead of the interests of Nova Scotians,” said Adams, who is also the Minister responsible for the Elections Act.  “No matter how bad things get for Zach Churchill that’s no excuse for him to resort to American-style attacks on an independent, non-partisan agency like Elections Nova Scotia.”

Adams noted that Elections Nova Scotia makes its decisions independent of any political direction, subject to the province’s Elections Act and other applicable provincial laws.

Those who require an at-home voting option can make an appointment through their returning office. In previous elections, Elections Nova Scotia also offered voting at seniors complexes.

“Whatever Nova Scotians decide in this election, they can rest assured that our election is run by an independent, non-partisan agency, no matter how many times Zach Churchill whines, complains or attacks Elections Nova Scotia and its staff,” added Adams.
