Dianne Timmins nominated PC candidate in Victoria-The Lakes

BRAS D’OR – On September 5th 2024, Dianne Timmins became the Progressive Conservative candidate for Victoria-The Lakes for the next provincial general election.

“For 14 years, I have worked closely with MLA Keith Bain in his constituency office to help the people of Victoria-The Lakes,” said Timmins.  “With Keith deciding to retire, and given my experience and history with him, I felt a strong passion to continue serving the residents here. The logical next step is to become the elected official and continue building up Victoria-The Lakes through stimulated growth in infrastructure and development by our PC government.”

A lifelong resident of Victoria-The Lakes, Timmins was born and raised on a hobby farm in Millville and moved to Big Bras d’Or when she married her husband, Brian Timmins.  Timmins fished with her husband for 10 years, before starting her own career in business administration. Together, they are the proud parents of four children and have six grandchildren.

In addition to her work as constituency assistant to MLA Bain, Timmins has been an active volunteer in the community for more than 35 years.  She was a parent volunteer at a local elementary school, developing programs and working on the expansion of Boularderie School, including the introduction of the community access program (CAP) in Victoria County.  She is also a long time member of the Boularderie United Pastoral Charge.

“Over the years, Dianne Timmins has been an accessible, dependable, reliable public servant, working with Keith Bain on the issues that matter to the people of Victoria-The Lakes,” said Premier Tim Houston.  “I can think of no better person to continue Keith’s work and be a strong, effective voice in government than Dianne Timmins.”

Tim Houston’s PC team has also delivered record investments in healthcare, housing and tax relief to Cape Bretoners, fixing what the previous Liberal government broke and strongly opposing the Liberal carbon tax.
