Health professional Candice Clairmont wins PC nomination in Yarmouth

Licensed practical nurse Candice Clairmont will be the PC candidate in Yarmouth in the next provincial election. She won the nomination at a virtual meeting held today.

“As a nurse, I see how gaps in the health system let people down,” Clairmont said. “PC leader Tim Houston’s common sense plans for healthcare will help people get access to the care they need, when they need it.”

Clairmont was born and raised in Yarmouth and has worked as a travel nurse for the Digby General Hospital for five years. The closure of and the impact of COVID-19 on her community inspired her to join a team focused on improving the lives of Nova Scotians.

“I am excited to welcome Candice to our PC team,” Houston said. “She joins many other healthcare professionals who know our system can be better and believe in the PC vision for health. She will be a great MLA.”

Clairmont lives in Lake George with her husband Jason and their children Devon and Victoria.
