Karina Sanford to carry the PC Banner in Cole Harbour-Dartmouth

Karina Sanford is the PC candidate for Cole Harbour-Dartmouth in the next provincial election. She was nominated on May 5th.

Sanford is the president of the Cole Harbour and Area Business Association, a community volunteer, and a real estate entrepreneur.

If elected, Sanford will fight for business growth, increased access to affordable housing and improved education and learning experiences. She also wants to see addictions and mental health services expanded and made more accessible through the PC’s Universal Mental Health Care strategy.

“As a life-long resident of Cole Harbour, I know that the key to our community’s success is a strong education system, a thriving business community and access to mental and physical health care for people of all ages,” says Sanford. “I look forward to being part of a team that shares these values and has real strategies to address these challenges.”

Sanford attended Saint Mary's University and worked in the service industry before building her real estate business. She says it is through being a business owner that she learned the value of building relationships and budgeting effectively - two lessons she hopes to bring to government. Sanford says that her experience in real estate also provided insight on the government’s lack of investment in affordable housing.

As a real estate agent, Sanford says that people look for communities where they can raise their family and thrive, and that the role for government is to build communities where people are welcomed and want to stay.

“Karina is hard working and cares deeply for her community. She will make an excellent MLA for Cole Harbour-Dartmouth,” says PC Leader Tim Houston. “Through her business experience, Karina understands where investments are needed to make our communities thrive, and support Nova Scotians to reach their full potential.”

Along with being active in the business community, Sanford is an avid supporter of local sports and she raises funds to support minor sports in her community. As an MLA, her goal is to make Cole Harbour-Dartmouth a better place to live, play and shop.
