Kent Smith is the Progressive Conservative Candidate for Eastern Shore

EASTERN SHOREKent Smith is the nominated Progressive Conservative candidate for Eastern Shore in the next provincial election.

First elected in 2021, Smith has passionately served residents and families in Eastern Shore, fixing what was broken in his constituency by the Liberals, including:

  • Changing the model of care at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital to Urgent Care and offering a much more reliable hospital for the Sheet Harbour area.

  • Repaving multiple sections of the Number 7 which is the most valuable infrastructure on the Shore.

  • Paving the parking lot at Lawrencetown Beach, helping visitors have a better experience.

  • Creating 15 new affordable apartments in Porters Lake because the only way to fix the housing crisis is to create more reliable housing.

“Our government has done important work building up the Eastern Shore and I am really proud of the progress,” Smith said. “I am so grateful to the people of Eastern Shore for putting their trust in me and look forward to delivering more solutions in the future.”

Smith is the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Before his role as MLA, he was a successful entrepreneur in the waste management, trucking, and real estate sectors. He is also an active volunteer in the community.

“Kent Smith does his homework and knows how to get things done,” said Premier Houston. “He is a great team player who always keeps the best interests of Eastern Shore residents in mind.”

The Houston government is improving the lives of Nova Scotians by hiring more doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, lowering taxes by indexing tax brackets, and investing in our seniors with the Seniors Care Grant.
