Kim Masland to represent Progressive Conservatives in Queens

QUEENSKim Masland is the nominated Progressive Conservative candidate for Queens in the next provincial election.

Since her first win in 2017, Masland has taken action when it comes to delivering solutions for the people of Queens, fixing what the Liberals broke in her constituency, including:

  • A new 112 single-room unit facility at Queens Manor in Liverpool that is set to open in 2026 and a new North Queens Nursing Home, providing care to approximately 48 seniors, is expected to open in 2032.

  • $2.2 million for a new pool in Liverpool, suitable for competition, as well as therapy and recreation.

  • $500,000 towards the upgrade of a new running track at Liverpool Regional High School.

  • Over $20.5 million in the last two years to improve bridges and roads in the constituency of Queens.

  • Expanding life-saving dialysis treatment in Liverpool with an investment of $30,000 to Queens General Hospital.

  • Investment in modular public housing units with the addition of an eightplex on the land adjacent to 183/185 Old Port Mouton Road in Liverpool.

  • Nearly $30,000 to help South Shore Multicultural Association welcome newcomer healthcare workers and their families by hosting various community events.

  • $66,000 to Queens County Transit as they continue providing residents with affordable and accessible transportation services.

  • $10.7 million to complete wastewater upgrades in Queens County for new housing developments in the Mount Pleasant area of Liverpool.

  • Investments to help work on the parking lot and walkway of Carters Beach.

“As a life-long resident of Queens, I know and respect the people who put their trust in me. Building up local communities is my first priority,” Masland said. “Premier Tim Houston and our PC team have made important progress and I look forward to continuing that work in the years to come.”

Masland won elections in 2017 for Queens-Shelburne and 2021 for Queens. She is the Minister of Public Works and the Government House Leader. Prior to becoming MLA, Masland worked as the Senior Safety Coordinator for Queens County, working closely with Queens RCMP Detachment.

“Kim Masland works hard for the people of Queens and she gets results,” said Premier Houston. “She is a strong voice for her constituents and an important part of our PC team.”

The Houston government is improving the lives of Nova Scotians by hiring more doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, lowering taxes by indexing tax brackets, and investing in our seniors with the Seniors Care Grant.
