MacQuarrie nominated PC candidate in Inverness

INVERNESS, N.S. – A longtime teacher from Mabou is the new PC candidate for the constituency Inverness in the upcoming provincial general election.

Kyle MacQuarrie was nominated as the party’s candidate by Inverness PC Party members earlier this week.

“Inverness has always done best when we have strong, effective voices in our Nova Scotia government,” said MacQuarrie. “I am running to be the new MLA for Inverness so that I can continue to deliver results for the people of Inverness as part of Premier Tim Houston’s team.”

MacQuarrie’s diverse experience includes working as a high school educator, community volunteer, coach, information technology professional and former small business owner with local and international experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s University (Major in Mathematics and Computer Science) and a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University.  MacQuarrie and his wife are the proud parents of four and are also grandparents.

“Kyle MacQuarrie understands and values hard work, the importance of culture and family, the value of recreation and strong communities,” said Premier Tim Houston.  “Kyle cares deeply about Inverness County and will ensure the priorities of the people are heard where it counts, at the government decision making table, just as Allan MacMaster did in my government’s first term.”

Premier Tim Houston’s PC Team has delivered record investments in healthcare, housing and infrastructure.  The Houston PCs are also providing tax relief, while at the same time fighting against the Liberal carbon tax.
