Marco MacLeod to represent PCs in Pictou West

PICTOU, NS - Small business owner Marco MacLeod will carry the PC banner in the Pictou West by-election.

MacLeod lives in Scotsburn on a seventh-generation family farm where he runs his own sawmill and helps manage the farm. Prior to owning his small business, Marco worked as a flight instructor. He then returned to his education and went on to become a process engineer and manager for Michelin.

“Pictou West was lucky to have an incredible representative in Karla MacFarlane for nearly 11 years,” said MacLeod. “I want to ensure the communities across Pictou West continue to have a voice at the decision-making table.”

MacLeod would join Premier Tim Houston's PC majority government that is focused on building up Nova Scotia.

"Marco is a community leader who has dedicated his time and energy to improving Pictou County," said Premier Houston. "I want his perspective and experience as part of our PC team. With Karla, Pictou West had a strong voice at the decision-making table. I know that legacy will be continued with Marco as MLA.”

The date for the by-election has not yet been announced.
