Marco MacLeod to represent Progressive Conservatives in Pictou West

PICTOU WESTMarco MacLeod will be representing the Progressive Conservatives in Pictou West during the next provincial election.

Fresh off an overwhelming by-election victory in May, MacLeod has been listening to residents in Pictou West and continuing to support the important work done by former MLA Karla MacFarland, including:

  • Nearly 600,000 to CHAD Transit, helping residents access efficient public transit options.

  • Investments to improve wastewater infrastructure in the community of Salem.

  • Support to Royal Canadian Legion Branch #16 Pictou and #108 River John for upgrades to building infrastructures.

  • $35,000 to support foundation and roof repairs to Union Centre Community Club.

  • $45,000 to help complete infrastructure upgrades, repairs and replacements due to damage from Hurricane Fiona to the New Caledonian Curling Club.

“It’s exciting to be a member of Tim Houston’s PC team,” MacLeod said. “In my short time as an MLA, I have seen how focused the Houston government is on fixing the things that previous governments broke and building up our province.”

Prior to owning his small business and working on his family farm, Marco worked as a flight instructor, then returned to his education and went on to become a process engineer and manager for Michelin.

“In the by-election, I was impressed by Marco every single day,” said Premier Houston. “His work ethic is unbelievable and his enthusiasm to help the people who elected him already makes him a great MLA.”

The Houston government supported seven volunteer fire departments with investments of $20,000 each to support our brave volunteers and safeguard the residents of Pictou West.

The Houston government is improving the lives of Nova Scotians by hiring more doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, lowering taxes by indexing tax brackets, and investing in our seniors with the Seniors Care Grant.
