HANTS WEST - Melissa Sheehy-Richard will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for
Hants West in the next provincial election.
Elected in 2021, Sheehy-Richard has delivered concrete results for the people of Hants West to fix what was broken in the constituency, including:

$100,000 in support to Peer Outreach Support Services & Education (POSSE) Project as they facilitate programming and resources.

$49.5 million for a new school to replace Windsor Forks District School and Three Mile Plains District School, supporting students in pre-primary to Grade 5.

A new pharmacy primary clinic at Pharmasave in Windsor.

Up to 60 newly created day care spaces between Windsor Day Care and Windsor Nursery School.

$29.9 million towards the maintenance of bridges and the paving of asphalt and gravel roads.

$3 million for a new water storage tank in Hants West.

Over $1.1 million to Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia to complete crucial infrastructure upgrades.

$3.6 million towards repairs and the maintenance of public housing in Hants West.

$11.4 million in Heating Assistance Rebate Program and $1.5 million in Seniors Property Tax Rebates.

A new modern facility for Dykeland Lodge with 33 additional beds.
“I know residents appreciate the important investments made by our PC team and Premier Tim
Houston in our communities,” Sheehy-Richard said. “Our government will continue to work with
community to build up Hants West well into the future.”
Sheehy-Richard is the Chair of the Standing Committee on Community Services, and Vice
Chair of the Human Resources committee. In addition, she is a member of the Public Accounts
and Law Amendments committees. Before becoming an MLA, she was a paralegal and
operated her own home-based business.
“Melissa takes her job as MLA very seriously and works tirelessly to get things done for the
people of Hants West,” said Premier Houston. “I am happy she will be standing beside me as
part of the PC team in the next election.”
The Houston government is improving the lives of Nova Scotians by hiring more doctors,
nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, lowering taxes by indexing tax brackets, and
investing in our seniors with the Seniors Care Grant.
