PC MLA Keith Bain will continue to fight for the people of Victoria-the Lakes as the PC candidate in the upcoming provincial election.
“It’s been my great honour representing the people of Victoria-The Lakes in the Nova Scotia Legislature,” says Bain. “We have accomplished a lot, but there’s more work to be done. I’m dedicated to continuing to work on your behalf.”
Prior to being first elected to the House of Assembly in 2006, Bain was a small business owner. He’s also held notable positions such as Chair of the PC Caucus and Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. Most recently, Mr. Bain was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Nova Scotia Legislature.
Bain is committed to addressing the shortcomings that exist in the healthcare system.
“Access to healthcare is the number one issue. We’re reminded on a daily basis with long wait times, constant ER closures, and limited access to primary care and mental health services,” says Bain. “I’m grateful that the PC team is focused on healthcare. The past year, we’ve put out plans to solve problems in primary healthcare, long-term care and addictions and mental health.”
PC leader Tim Houston says Bain is a hard-working, community-minded individual who will always put the needs of his constituents first.
“Keith is the type of elected official we need. He is invested in making life better for the residents of Victoria-The Lakes, “ says Houston. “He always brings the concerns of his constituents forward. I thank Keith for putting his name forward again.”
Bain is a longstanding, dedicated volunteer. Presently, he is the Chair of the Worship committee of the Boularderie United Church Pastoral Charge, member on the Board of Directors of the Northside Guest Home; Treasurer of the Boularderie Food Bank; former member of Big Bras d'Or Volunteer Fire Department where he held, prior to his political career, a position as Chief for over 25 years.
He’s married to the love of his life Chrissy, and together they have two sons and two granddaughters.
