DARTMOUTH – NDP Leader Claudia Chender said today that Premier Tim Houston has done a good job restoring support for Nova Scotia’s film industry.
During an appearance on CityNews 95.7 Radio, when questioned about the film industry cuts imposed by Zach Churchill’s Liberals, Chender said “credit where credit is due” in the Houston government’s significant investments in “an industry of the future.” The NDP Leader also said she was “excited” to see the Houston government’s support of building a film soundstage.
“Team Tim Houston is making it happen in supporting good jobs by investing in the film sector,” said Cole Harbour PC candidate Leah Martin. “It’s hypocritical of Claudia Chender and the NDP to pretend they support the film industry only to turn around and vote against Progressive Conservative budgets that expand support for the film industry.”
Leah has a personal connection to the creative arts industry. Her father works in entertainment and she understands firsthand the impact it has on families when opportunities vanish.
“Tim Houston is the Premier and the PC Party is the team that Nova Scotians can count on to build up film and creative industries,” added Martin.
