YARMOUTH – A nurse and Yarmouth municipal councillor is running for Tim Houston’s Progressive Conservatives in the next provincial general election.
Nick Hilton became the PC candidate when nominations closed July 18.
“Premier Tim Houston and his PC team have done a great job fixing what was broken by the previous Liberal government, but there’s more work to do,” said Hilton. “I am running to be an MLA to offer my experience from the real world of healthcare and community work to ensure Yarmouth has a strong voice in Tim Houston’s government.”
A lifelong resident of Yarmouth County, Hilton has worked as a nurse for more than 20 years at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Elected as a Councillor for District 7 for the Municipality of Yarmouth in 2020, Hilton is a member of the Joint Police Advisory Committee, Planning Advisory Committee, REMO Executive Committee, Yarmouth Area Industrial Commission, Yarmouth International Airport Corporation and Mariners Centre Expansion committee. Born and raised in Chegoggin, Hilton now lives in Arcadia with his family. He has also been involved with the Yarmouth Curling Association and Yarmouth Golf and Country Club.
“Yarmouth deserves an MLA like Nick Hilton who is focused on the needs of the people of Yarmouth, not the needs of a political party or a political career,” said Premier Tim Houston. “I need Nick Hilton elected as part of our PC team so that the priorities of building up Yarmouth are at the decision-making table.”
Tim Houston’s PC Team has delivered record investments in healthcare, housing and tax relief to Nova Scotians, while strongly opposing the Liberal carbon tax.
