PC Government’s Budget 2025-26 is Unlocking Nova Scotia’s Potential

The Houston government is delivering on the commitments made to Nova Scotians in the last election, with Budget 2025-26. Our PC government is Unlocking Nova Scotia’s Potential by cutting taxes, creating jobs, and continuing to strengthen healthcare.

“We may not be able to control outside influences, but as a province we can control how we respond, where we invest and what we focus on next,” said John Lohr, Minister of Finance and Treasury Board. “Budget 2025-26 will continue to move Nova Scotia forward. It builds on progress already made and delivers on promises to lower taxes, hire more doctors, increase wages and strengthen our economy. This is how we will help unlock Nova Scotia’s full potential.”

Some of the key items in this year’s budget include:

  • Lower income taxes by increasing the basic personal amount to $11,744
  • Free hospital parking at Nova Scotia Health hospitals and the IWK
  • No more tolls on the Macdonald and MacKay bridges in Halifax
  • Free shingles vaccines for Nova Scotians 65+
  • More housing, including the first new public housing builds in 20 years
  • And much much more.

Our PC Team will keep working hard on our promise to Make it Happen for Nova Scotia by unlocking our province's potential and transforming us into an generational economic success story.
