HALIFAX, N.S. - Liberal leader Zach Churchill’s sneaky carbon tax will raise grocery prices.
“Zach Churchill’s sneaky carbon tax is a tax on farmers - that will make your groceries more expensive,” said PC candidate Barb Adams. “Higher prices on gas and groceries aren’t a good deal.”
“Nova Scotians deserve a government that will put their affordability first instead of efforts to please Justin Trudeau.”
Together with Justin Trudeau, Zach Churchill’s Liberals would ensure the fuel price goes up every year - costing you more. Instead of joining Tim Houston in fighting the carbon tax, Zach Churchill’s Liberals tabled legislation to create one this Fall.
Churchill is proposing a cap-and-trade system - a price on carbon by another name. According to government figures, Churchill’s sneaky carbon tax would drive up the cost of gas by as much as 26 cents per litre by 2030.
Tim Houston’s PCs are the only party completely opposed to carbon taxes. A re-elected PC government will help Nova Scotians afford groceries by fighting the carbon tax, reducing the HST, and cutting income taxes.
“The best deal for Nova Scotians is to let them keep more of their hard-earned money to afford groceries,” said Adams.
