“Today marks the start of Provincial Access Awareness Week which runs from May 31st to June 5th.
It is a time to acknowledge and celebrate the progress in access and inclusion for those with various abilities. It is also a time to acknowledge that more work needs to be done with regard to building an accessible Nova Scotia.
While on HRM Council, and as a member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee, I had the pleasure of working with many people of varying abilities to make change. These voices have guided - and continue to guide - our province along a more equitable path where no one should be left behind.
I want to thank each and every person who has acknowledged where we need to go as a province and contributed and committed to us getting there, together.”
