DARTMOUTH EAST, NS – Tim Halman will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for Dartmouth East in the next provincial election.
First elected in 2017, Halman has worked tirelessly for the people of Dartmouth East and has delivered concrete results to fix what was broken in the constituency, including:
- Over $4.7 million invested in the construction of 45 housing units, 25 being affordable and low income units.
- Investments in the twinning of Highway 107 from Burnside to Lake Loon.
- 11 million investment in a New MRI at the Dartmouth General.
- 100 units of student housing at NSCC Akerley and 200 units of Student housing at NSCC Ivany.
“In the past, so much was neglected under the previous Liberal government,” Halman said. “Our government has been laser-focused on building up Dartmouth East and I’m excited to see what more we can do for the residents in our community.”
Halman won elections in 2017 and 2021. He is currently the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the Chair of Treasury and Policy Board. Prior to his election, Halman taught political science and history.
“As a teacher, Tim saw first-hand the impact government has on the lives of families,” said Premier Houston. “That experience makes him a thoughtful and compassionate MLA and a truly valued member of our PC team.”
The Houston government is improving the lives of Nova Scotians by hiring more doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, lowering taxes by indexing tax brackets, and investing in our seniors with the Seniors Care Grant.
